I not 100% sure where this goes, I thought it would be great under here as it the behaviour of the crab!
9(ish)am
I woke up in the morning and hear a little chirping sound coming from the tank. I didn't really think much of it as I not a morning person and went downstairs to feed my fish and eat brekkie!
10(ish)am
Nothing much, went upstairs and quickly fetched my laptop, hear chirping but ignored it - thought it was my imagination - and went back down!
10:45am
Went upstairs to look at my tank as some crabbies like to come out during the day in summer... Hear the chirping and it was driving me insane... I looked behind the tank (nothing there besides wires), in my tote (nothing besides extra rocks and a few bits & bobs) and then looked everywhere in my room to find out what was making the noise! i looked under my bed and when I stood up, I saw one of my crabbies - Sandii of course, she got something against me! - STUCK between the stand and the wall! i wish i got pics, it was soo funny - seeing her shell being a smidge too big - thankfully I was able to get her out by moving - er, dragging - the tank by a few mills and placed her back into the tank - after a few pinches and me trying to pry her off my fingers! (when she got off my finger) she went to the freshwater pool and had a good 1 minute swim before she went on her crabby way! Garh, she didn't say thank you, just a few pinches - which is normal for her, she one crab I never hold on my palm, worse than my other crab, Tank!
10:50am
After getting her out, taped up the lids with some duct tape... Unfortunately, I only had 2 foot of the stuff, so it not a very good job... I going to get some more pavers to add to the tank - this time, as a lid!
Moral of the story:
- The crab still doesn't like me
- It's karma for all the pain she inflicts on me
- Need stronger lid
- Good excuse to build my own tank or to get a bigger one - haha, I had her escape 2 days earlier, but my mother found her walking down the stairwell! Garh! Now that i had a crab escape 2 times, my parents are softening to the idea to built my own (bigger and secure) tat, but I don't suggest this method for anyone...
I pretty sure she the only escapee, but i looking in every cranny in the house and I will include the help of my dog - he scared of everything, including hermies, when he does see one he starts to bark and run away (that how my mum found her on the stairwell)
