(first post here so I hope I'm putting it in the right section)
I've had my two crabs since July. We've been in a new tank for over a month now (29g). Everything is great. Temps range from 79-84, humidity is always between 80-90%. They have a UTH and a regular clamp desk lamp during the day & the UTH & moon glow bulb at night.
I have all the necessities for them & provide a wide variety of foods daily.
Why are they being so....I don't know...inactive?
About a week ago my one buried in dry EE (that was in my shell shop before I realized it wasn't ideal) and I thought he was pulling a surface molt. I moved him to an ISO inside the regular tank but he was out and about that evening so I just put him back in the tank. He still hangs out in the basket (new shell shop) 90% of the time. I never see him down on the sand, ever.
My other guy is spastic. I thought maybe he had molted recently but nope, he's just spastic. If I lift his coco hut just a bit to check on him, he flails all limbs and it's like he's crawling out of his skin. Now he's 'buried' half way in the sand and hasn't moved much.
I know they're nocturnal and move about at night but I smooth out the sand and don't see many tracks at all anymore. Also, they aren't touching their food. None of it. :/ They haven't touched their fresh food for a solid week...I still change it out daily just in case.
**I have a video monitor on them to watch them and to see if they move about at night... it's very rare.
Should I be concerned? Also, sorry for the novel
