1.) Tanks:
a.) Craigslist. ------- www.craigslist.org/about/sites
b.) Yard/garage sales
c.) used tanks from family members basements backyards attics etc.
d.) auctions
e.) Pet-stores (local or chains such as Petsmart or Petco)
2.) Substrate:
a.) Sand from Lowes (less than 4 dollars a 50lb bag)
b.) Sand from other hardware stores (Quik-crete is a good way to go)
c.) EE you usually can find at petstores in bricks
d.) Pet-stores sell sand but its expensive and usually is only in small amounts
e.) You can also buy sand and EE on many petstore and non- petstore websites.
3.) Humidity and Temp gauges:
a.) Some Walmarts sell them, in store. They can also be found on the online store
b.) Petstores (local and chains) have them may be more expspensive, but they may have more of a variety
c.) Online petstore websites sell them too
4.) Heat sources:
a.) At walmart you can get a clamp light from the auto-dept. and get a heat bulb from the pet section, for a decent price.
b.) You can buy clamp lights and light bulbs at local and chain petsotres too but they are often over priced
c.) Petstores sell UTH's (under the tank heaters) like zoomed, that stick directly onto your tank and are difficult to remove(you can get around that) but most do not heat the tank well
d.) Reptile basics(I'll get the link then) sells Ultra therm heat mats for around the same price as the zoomed brand but they actually heat the tanks to optimum temp which helps keep the humidity up.
c.) In emergency situations you can use the silver heat blankets to wrap around the tank to keep heat in if the power fail etc.

Fresh and Salt water:
a.) You can buy fresh water, dechlorinated, at walmart or most other places that sell food in the water section. They sell distilled water in jugs for less than a dollar a piece.
b.) You can also use water treatment to make your tap water safe for your crabs as well.
c.) They often times sell dechlorinated water in small bottles at the pet-stores. Though this may be more expensive
d.) marine grade salt water you can buy premixed at most pet-stores, though most people I know of don't use premixed.
e.) In most pet-stores you can also buy marine grade salt, that you mix with dechlorinated water to make ocean water for your crabs. You can buy this in bulk for less money than having to go buy little jar type things of it at a time.
