Freeze your millett! I got in a batch that looked very fresh and healthy. I put some in with the crabs, some in with the birds and want away for the weekend. I came home to a moth invasion. They are everywhere! I even have little moth worms on the ceiling. I had to put up fly paper (this worked better and was cheeper then the moth traps) and take the photos off the wall to get moth larva off of them. Im talking a weekend here guys... They even got under the lid of my bird food. I had this one other time years ago and i know how to avoid it but i was lazy and didnt do what i should. When ever buying millett put it in the freezer for at least 48 hours before you ever offer it to your pets. This kills off any moth eggs that you can not see. Its a good idea to do this with any seeds that you purchase. Next time i wont be so lazy...I wanted to pass this on before someone has to go through this. The bird food is now all in the freezer, any moth larva wont kill or hurt the birds but its still gross. It was almost 30lbs so i cant afford to toss it. I did put a few of the larva in with the crabs who seemed to like them. They did find them hard to catch however so i had to get my son to mame the worms..yelk...nasty.. I had to put tape on the swifter and use it to get the larva off of my ceiling. Now that im showered and do not see any larva or moths im much happier. The crabs seemed to like the larva more then the millett. Its a high protein diet tonight. Happy crabbing, suebee
