I know the minimum is three crabs per gallon but what is the maximum number of crabs you can house in a twenty gallon high aquarium? I currently have my two hermits in a twenty gallon high. I'm thinking the maximum number for a twenty gallon is five because they have to be able to spread out to molt.

Sorry I'm so late getting to this! It's always best to provide as much space as you can. Smaller crabs as big as a big grape & under) need at least 5 gallons' each with growing room. As your crabs get bigger it changes because you know need space for molting, playing, hiding & eating/drinking/bathing that accommodates their sizes (bigger crabs require bigger pools & hides, sturdier climbing stuff, etc which equals needing more space than 5 gallons per crab). How big are your crabs crabby131? Gimme something they are about the same size as; a ping pong ball, golf ball, tennis ball, etc
