Okay, I lost the original information I sent you.
I have 20 Hermit crabs. 3 about a ping pong size, 10 about the size of a nickel and 7 the size of a quarter. I have many different size shells. As a matter of fact I took some out as it seemed too crowded.
The temperature is usually in the yellow where it should be. The humidity does fluctuate if I have my space heater on in the living room. They are in my entertainment center and have a light on them (when I put it on).
They have coconut background to climb up, a flower decoration, two logs, and a hut. I had limbs and screens and reptile climbs, but took them down. They never seem to use them. All they do is hide or burrow. A few come out at night.
I am using about 2 inches of zoo med hermit crab sand in the front 1/4 of the tank and about 3 inches of zoo med eco earth.
They are being fed zoo med crunchies, fruit salad t rex fruit and flower crab food, hbh variety bites and cookies, all living things food mixed together than I have a shell with some zoo med food and can food. I give them a snack bowl with a variety of strawberries, bananas, lettuce, carrots, peanut butter, oranges, grapes, bread.
I give them hbh salt water and just started using zoo med drinking water conditioner.
I have some moss in there to help with the humidity.
They are in a exo terra terrarium 24 x 18 x 12 1/2 with a screen top.
I mist the tank twice daily. The book said to bathe them and I lost a few of them after their baths, until I saw it on your website. So much misinformation out there.
I have a few questions...
Why are they not coming out and climbing?
How do I know they are alive? I know when others died there was a fishy smell. I know one was molting. How do I know he is okay?
They used to be in a metal cage home and never monitored the humidity and temp and never lost a one (only had 5 though).
I am hoping with all this information you can help me and my hermies...thank you!
