Tonight they are calling for 33 degrees here....yes this may give us some red leaves, but going to be a busy day cutting up foam board I got at dollar tree and getting it on the tanks......I'm ready for summer again. So I posted this just to let all you yanks know it's not as cold here, but we still wrestle with some of this weather. Hoping this will be a mild winter and no 20 degree weather. Had a thought as my biggest fear is one of my heating units going out on a cold night. Think I'm going to start saving and get a few of the cheaper heating pads to keep around in emergencies.....just a thought for some of you up north, even a couple of them on a big tank would be better than none at all.
I know that we are expecting a long, cold, winter where I live. Not even November yet and already I'm getting lows at night in the high 30's. By the time it really gets cold we might have nights in the sigle digits...I already put foil around the sides of my tank and cardboard on parts but your right about needing some emergency heating units.
Was trying to think of a safe way to put this foam board I got at dollar tree over the heating pad. Think I'm going to run a thin piece of the foam board down each side and tape it to the black plastic that is on the corners....then if I take a big piece of the foam board and attach to that it will create a space in back so foam board is not up against my foil and heater? We shall see if it works, that's my next project this afternoon.
kitty: Not much activity in my tank. One morning I got up and it looked like a tornado went through it. Water bowls tumbled, food dishes upside down. Fixed it all up and have been waiting eversince. ! Nothing. DARN !!
