It's always easier to maintain less tanks, so I'd get those guys moved soon. If you dig the other guy up, here's how it will go: (have you seen my FB pics of Gamera's surface molt last year?) If he's out of his exo, he's safe to move, if he isn't out of it yet, he's safe to move. That is because if he's out of it more than even a day or 2 (you'll be able to tell by color*), he won't be too vulnerable to move, you'll just have to put him in either an ISO or a hide or in-tank ISO (like a kritter keeper or soda bottle top) using a big spoon so you can scoop him and his sand & exo together gently. The only way he'll be too vulnerable to move is if he is literally in the middle of shedding his exo. This looks very freaky as it looks like he's silently sneezing or folding forward in a rhythm. OR, if he just shed it that day. If that's the case *he'll be very pale pink, like the color of a Caucasian newborn's hand,LMSO and look very soft & squishy. That's the only time he'd be too vulnerable to move and honestly...if he's a guy you've had a while, he'd probably make it if you moved him gently to some sort of ISO in or out of the tank.
What kind of light do you have now that isn't working for you?
Awwww! I haven't had anyone else in a shell like that the whole time crabbing, though it seems violas like them,hh. I don't even know for sure that I have Tiny Tim anymore, though I hadn't lost any in a long time before the new ones...I have a feeling he is in there, I'm thinking he's one of the ones in banded turbos.
