I use some flat think they are Repti dishes with just a small lip around the sides, they are nice and flat and I can easily fit them in areas. I mix a lot of dried stuff to sprinkle on the sub, but still put lots of dried stuff in the dish. Mine do like some things fresh, but are spoilt and like it dried and in small pieces.

Flat shells are fine, Jenny, I use them if I have something I want to serve separate. I just have so many crabs and so big that I'd need a big flat shell. In the wild, the crabs will gather & all munch together with older crabs letting the young'uns know where the food is so I try to make it so as many of them can eat at once as they want.
