from the front all you see is the leaf mat. It has holes through it and the sticks are woven in and out of the back of the mat but you only see the leaves. the sticks all stick out a bit longer then the mat and they go into the ground at the back glass edge of the tank. I made sure none of the sicks were sharp. In a photo you will just see the leaf background. I used 4 to cover the back of my 40 gal breeder over lapped the 29 gal i only needed 3. My 10 gal two worked on. The 20 long is the same as the 29.. oh and the...ok i have a few tanks..lol

Okay, so if the shishkabob sticks are stuck in the ground, I have two questions. How does it not fall forward when they climb it? Are they just little crabbies or is it attached to something at the top? Also, how do you keep burrowers from dislodging the sticks? I ask because Godzilla dislodged the flowers I stuck into the ground the first night I put them in there,hh.
≈19 clypeatus, 4 perlatus & 8 compressus in 4 tanks
Just to add to second floor access routes. Right now I use a half log turn so its on it end to make tall and a chola (mostly mis-spelled) branch. I have also used small basket zip tied to whatever my second floor is that week/month. After hearing about Jute I started knitting my own nets. My husband calls it therapy. Sorry if I got off subject!
Great other climbing ideas! as for the mats, the I used about 8 sticks per mat and that keeps them up, some of the little guys go to the back and back around to the front but that many sticks seem to keep the mats up so far, its been about 4 weeks. I might have to adjust them a bit but not like the plants that they knock down within hours. ;D
kitty: Not much activity in my tank. One morning I got up and it looked like a tornado went through it. Water bowls tumbled, food dishes upside down. Fixed it all up and have been waiting eversince. ! Nothing. DARN !!
