Thanks go to Sue & JMT for this information.
While it's true that we can't always ascertain certain results from a short period of using something with our crabs, I can tell you this; my crabs do not eat a salt-free diet and seem to be fine. The shortest time I have had any of them is 8 months. They have eaten saltines, french fries, tater tots, meat with salt & seasonings, processed foods and even foods with preservatives (since most human food has them). Admittedly, I have fed my crabs foods (in small, infrequent amounts) other sites would freak out about. I like learning and like Sue said-one site will just copy and paste what someone else said without ever doubting it, researching it or experimenting for themselves (ie; the pine myth).
It's always good when we can learn new things about our crabs. As Bob has said, the crabs won't eat it if it isn't good for them. They are hardy and wouldn't have survived since prehistoric times if they didn't have a clue. It's always good when we can expand on what we already have available to us and this is how it begins. ;D
Like I always say, we have the best members and the best info & this is why.
