Woah- I have not been on here in ages!! Update:I fell out of crabbing a few years ago 😛 I went through a really bad depression and became very slack on taking care of my babies 😥 it was very selfish, and I hate myself for it. I've lost a few crabs since then.. All three of my Ecuadorians passed away, one for unknown reasons, one somehow drowned, and one went down for a molt and never resurfaced 😢 I have gotten more, and another one somehow drowned himself in the salt water pool (even though it's a rough textured bowl that he could easily climb out of, and was not very deep 😟). After all my errors, I am back and taking care of them the best I can. I am going to be redesigning the lay out of their tank soon (adding a second level 😉) so that they will thirve more. I recently also got a bearded dragon (not sure if anyone knows about them) and while he is taking up a lot of my time, and money, I have still been making sure to keep the crabs watered and fed. While I say that, I had a question about calcium? I know Hermit Crabs can get calcium from certain foods and greens, along with cuttle bones, coral, powders, and things of that nature. Well, my bearded dragon has to have calcium supplements as well- he gets both calcium with d3, and without, as well as multivitamin powder. I was wondering if the powder I use for him, could be used by my hermit crabs as well? I have rep cal calcium with d3 and phosphorus free that I was wondering if I would use..? Any advice is greatly appreciated as I don't want to do anything that could hurt them.

I'm going to be honest and say I'm not sure. I "think" I recall someone saying no to the reptile calcium, but it probably depended on the ingredients in the product. If vitamins or preservatives are added to a product, then it is usually a "no" for hermit crabs. Spinach is a good source of calcium and cuttlebone is inexpensive. Sorry, I couldn't be of more help.
kitty: Not much activity in my tank. One morning I got up and it looked like a tornado went through it. Water bowls tumbled, food dishes upside down. Fixed it all up and have been waiting eversince. ! Nothing. DARN !!
