OK heres my super long spill! Sorry!
I managed to get a 64G tank off ebay for $80.81 . This remained in the garage until the school holls before I could clean out the tank and bring it into my room.
Here was it all dirty:
And all clean (sore arm also included ):
As you can tell, this was made for a marine fish tank setup - but I made some aussie tweaks
With that over and done with I wanted to do some DIY's - after all, why not? Right?
So I wanted to do a background and built in water pool. Yep, big ideas!
I made the background first, this background will cover about 1/3 of the back of the tank - rest up to me here is my idea!
before a carve:
after some one broke it doesn't it look great?
and of course, second and third levels are jus needed right?
After my fun time of destroying the background I then turned into a tradie and "slaped" cement on top. the end result look kinda like this:
YAY, completed 1/2 the mission. But I still needed to do the pools
I did the pool (OMG) and the leaked, so I took them out and did them again. One pool made a small dribble, so I patched it up and waiting for it to be all cool. The fresh water pool is bigger as I am putting snails, shrimp and plants in there (Java moss, apple/trumpet/or ramshorn snails, and cherry shrimp in there!)
Filling it with water
And of course, a easy way to get out!
The salt water one got covered with sand and shells while the fresh water one got covered with pebbles:
These ones are for the out side so the don't put sand/EE into the pools and stuff up the filters:D
One needs patching up, while the other isn't finished - but I ran out of silicone So going to get some more soon
They are made out of plastic fly screen mesh
Freshwater
Saltwater
Thats it for now
