OMG! That is cool! That was what I was going for when I did mine, but I didn't think of the "guard rails" and I used a few small knots to attach the two pieces together, rather than stitches. That looks really awesome!
≈19 clypeatus, 4 perlatus & 8 compressus in 4 tanks

How would we do that, Sue? Send a money order to cover postage? I can actually think of a couple of good uses for my new tank (like the long ramp I'm thinkin of) and that would be great!
Also, Mel-I just noticed that you said you used hermit crab coco-fiber. I don't know what that is (hh), but the stuff I bought at Lowe's is called "cut to fit coconut liner" and it's to go in hanging plant baskets. It is a huge circle (22inches diameter) and was only $3 & change. Just an FYI for everyone.
glad you guys like it! I am actually using plastic mesh for a part of this project... I am not going to talk about it until it actually works LOL! And then I might be hitting you up for some hehe.
I have lots of ideas for plastic mesh, most of the involve giving the crabs a feeling of being under the canopy of the trees. There are a zillion things you can do with it, and if you are worried about hemp or jute molding on it, you can opt for that plasticy rubber thread stuff... it is kind of tacky but if you are connecting pieces of mesh the last thing you want to worry about is mold happening to them. Using the right color of green could be made to look like vine holding it together.
Sach, the coco-fiber mat is something everyone used to use to create a climbing/humidity wall in their tanks. I am just re-purposing them, to replace my love of the nets really. I used one mat cut into two pieces for this it costs me 2.95 from petdiscounters. I like it because it easy to cut yet still strong enough to hold the stitches and whatnot. So it is like the one you have but it might be thinner and it comes in a 20 inch rectangle.
woops i missed the questions till now. Yes you could send me a money order or paypal. If you need small pieces i could fill a 5.00 flat rate box with it or if you want big pieces i could put some in a big 8x11 envelope (let me know how many pieces you would like) and get a price at the post office for the shipping. This is about the plastic canvas! I will try to get some photos of the different hole sizes and colors. I have white and off white. Im also going to start putting a piece in any food orders i get for the hermit crab dollar store food.
kitty: Not much activity in my tank. One morning I got up and it looked like a tornado went through it. Water bowls tumbled, food dishes upside down. Fixed it all up and have been waiting eversince. ! Nothing. DARN !!
